Are you still sending out emails to your customers?
Email marketing is not dead, despite what many people think. But it can be tricky if you want to increase sales and conversions. However when you do get it right you can see great results.
In this blog, we’re going to share a few steps you can follow to help boost your email marketing efforts.
Step 1: Get permission
Your email campaigns aren’t going to do nearly as well if you have a small emailing list.
It’s time to get people interested in your business and signing up to your newsletter or weekly email. But posting something like “enter your email for updates” isn’t going to get anyone excited. Instead, share specific details such as a strong call to action or benefit to giving your email address. This will get more people to subscribe.
Step 2: Follow through with great content
Email marketing is all about setting expectations then meeting them. You can’t have a strong CTA that intrigues new consumers to then let them down with mediocre emails. Create content that excites, educates or gives benefits to those who have signed up for your email.
Step 3: Pitch your product/ service
Now, obviously you’re not running email campaigns for the fun of it. You’re here to engage your audience and make sales. But knowing when to start promoting your products or services can be hard. Our advice is to ease them in slowly, and only send them out every once in a while.
Step 4: Understand your email analytics
Even though they’re all important, the 3 most critical analytics to measure are open rate, click-through rate, and unsubscribes.
Open rates will tell you how well you’ve built your relationship with readers. If your open rate is low then start to focus on providing value and managing expectations.
Click-through rate shows how many people clicked on a link in your email. A low CTR could mean that your message is not targeted enough so try to improve your copywriting skills.
Your unsubscribe rate tells you how many have clicked “unsubscribe” button at the bottom of your email. If people are leaving after a certain type of email, then maybe consider changing the message or creative.
