Our 3rd blog in the ‘How To’ blog series is here and it’s all about writing social media posts.

We’ve seen many businesses neglect their social because they think it isn’t important. But it is!

Social media is a great way to raise awareness for your brand, connect with your audience and explore with creative marketing campaigns.

A good social media post might get you a few likes and a comment. A fantastic one though has the potential to bring in new customers and leads.

Have a read of our advice and see how you can improve your content for social.

 Decide your Posting Platform

Your post will vary in length and structure depending on which platform you decide to post on. For example, a tweet tends to be a lot shorter and snappier than a post you’d upload to Facebook.

Take a look at the images below for an example of how 1 post has been structured and altered to suit each individual social media platform.

Using Hashtags

Hashtags are great for getting your business in front of the right people but you have to use them correctly. Use hashtags you know your audience will be searching and use the sparingly. Too many ### looks spammy and can put people off.

Images and Videos

If your post doesn’t include an image or a video, then you’re making a BIG mistake. Statistics and studies have shown that posts with visual elements typically see a 37% – 40%  increase in engagement.

Structure is Key

Your post needs to have a structure and like a story it needs a start, middle and end. Start with an eye-catching comment to draw viewers to your post, then add your information and finish with a call to action (CTA) and contact details. Always have a CTA.
