If you don’t know what you’re doing, marketing can be quite difficult. So a lot of companies tend to hire expert individuals or agencies in order increase their marketing efforts. Unfortunately a lot of SMEs don’t have the time or budget, which is why they resort to doing it themselves. So let’s cut to the chase, in our blog today we will be sharing some top small business marketing tips… Carry on reading to find out more.

Tip #1 – Be on the right social media platforms

This might sound obvious but so many brands think hopping on all the platforms is the best route. In reality, you need to find where your audience is and only go to those sites.

Tip #2 – Publish brilliant content

Another obvious one, but devastatingly boring content is all over the web and social media. All you need to do to stand out is put that little bit of extra effort into what your posting. Remember… quality over quantity.

Tip #3 – Research (affordable) paid advertising

Not all advertising has to be expensive. And as long as you do the targeting right, your ROI will be worth it.

Tip #4 – Create ‘how to’ and tutorial videos

You want your audience to be interested in what you have to say and offer, so get them interacting with you. Why not occasionally help them out with an instructional video showing them how to do something related to your industry? These videos always do well. Fact.

Tip #5 – Recycle content

Okay, so let’s say that video didn’t do well. Don’t waste it! Repurpose it into a blog, several social media posts, an infographic. Get creative and spruce up your old content into something new and fresh that your audience will love and respond to.

Tip #6 – Create infographics

Not keen on doing videos? Well then you can try infographics (moving ones if you’re feeling brave!) People LOVE infographics because they look good and supply them with a bunch of information in one go.

Alright, you win. We’ll throw in a couple more tips:

Tip #7 – Hold online contests
Tip #8 – Consider collaborations with influencers
Tip #9 – Business cards for networking

Marketing doesn’t have to be a chore, find joy in promoting your business as far and wide as possible. And if you want even more advice, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
