This year has been a weird one, and trying to predict what will happen in 2021 seems a little far-fetched. However, there are things we can sort of anticipate for the new year, things like marketing and business trends.
So in this blog, after lots of tedious research, we have listed 4 trends that we may expect to take off in 2021.
Social Media
Now, let’s talk about the obvious one. During the Covid-19 epidemic, businesses are increasingly making customer retention a priority and this will continue well into 2021. The pandemic has meant more and more people are spending time online which includes how they research products, brands, and services. So if your small business has been putting off social media then now is the time to add it to your marketing plan.
The cookie-less future
Google’s industry-leading browser Chrome will stop supporting third-party cookies by early 2022. So what does that mean for marketers and advertisers? Even though there’s some confusion about how campaigns will be affected, it’s important that we start educating ourselves about the impact of the cookie-less future and to prepare for it. One action we can begin to do is improving access to valuable first-party data.
Continued Covid assessment
Let’s face it – we’re not going back to the same economy. So the question to ask is, “What will stick, and what will recede? Things like restaurants doing deliveries, online classes, virtual tours. Customer behaviours will change, so do your research and make sure your business proposition aligns with what your customers want.
More collaborations
We won’t be surprised if marketers start to focus on celebrity collaborations. Company-to-company partnerships are also likely to be popular in 2021, like Adidas’ collaborations with Lego and Allbirds. Why are collabs so good you ask? Well, they help capture media attention, generate buzz on social media and allow you to cross market to different audiences.
Now, there’s plenty more trends expected to pop up in 2021 but far too many to mention in one blog. Show some love to this one and we may just share a part 2 with 4 more trends!
