Email marketing is great for reaching your customers to let them know about the latest news, offers and updates to do with your business.
But sometimes it can dry up and your open rates can plummet. And that’s okay. Just make sure you get back up, analyse what wasn’t working and try again.
Keep email subscribers and build interest around your business by holding competitions. We’ve done it for our clients before and have seen their open rates and click rates increase. Not only that but they maintained that high rate for months after.
So what can you do to entice your customers? Here’s a few ideas to try.
Feedback Competition
Ask your customers for feedback and then add their name to a draw. When the competition closes, select a name at random and the winner receives a prize of your choice. Feedback comps are great for learning how to improve your business from the people who really matter. Your customers also feel like they’re being listened to while also having a chance to win something.
Example: Tell us how we can improve our business and win a £50 voucher for JD Sports.
Giveaway Competition
Want to collaborate with other businesses? Then hold a comp where both businesses ask their customers to follow them both on social and those who follow are added to a draw. When the competition closes, select a name at random and the winner receives a free giveaway (product/ service) from both you and the other business. This kind of comp will help you grow your online audience and reach. The winner also gets to trial your products/ services and if they like them they could become a loyal customer.
Example: Follow us and (other business name) and get entered into our giveaway. You will win X product and Y service.
Vote to Win Competition
Making a decision about your business? Then why not get your customers to choose? Ask them which option they prefer and those who answer get added to a draw. When the competition closes, select a name at random and the winner receives a prize of your choice. Not only does this make decisions easier for you, it also allows your customers to feel like they played an important part in your business.
Example: We need to paint the office! Vote on which colour we should use and get entered into our draw to win a 1 day pass to Alton Towers.
Make sure the competition you hold is fun and that your customers feel like they are actually getting something out of it. Also remember to write some proper Terms and Conditions so they know all the rules.
